Midfielder leaves Southend for Valley
Charlton have completed the signing of Southend midfielder Nicky Bailey.
The 24-year-old has sealed his move to The Valley after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Charlton have been chasing Bailey for some time and the fee for his signature could rise to £750,000.
Bailey told
skysports.com last week of his desire to move to Charlton after Southend rejected the Championship side's initial offer and now his dream move has been sealed.
Addicks boss Alan Pardew was delighted to land the highly-rated midfielder.
"He's a young player that we have been tracking for some time," Pardew told the club's
official website.
"We felt it was an area we needed to strengthen, and Nicky comes into add to the competition with our other central midfield players.
"To score 12 goals in League One is a good total, and I'm hoping he can repeat that kind of success with Southend here."
