Robinho is reportedly set to be offered a new contract by Real Madrid as his agent speaks out again.

New contract in pipeline, but reports suggest fee has been set

Robinho is reportedly set to be offered a new contract by Real Madrid as his agent hints the Brazilian could leave for a smaller fee next year. The forward has stated that he has felt ignored over his request for an improved deal and was upset at being mentioned as a possible makeweight in a bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. Chelsea have made it clear they want to sign him after making two bids, with reports claiming the Premier League club will offer Robinho a 6million euros- a-year salary (£4.75million). Wagner Ribeiro, the player's agent, believes that his client could stay at the Bernabeu and leave next summer for a reduced fee as he would only have a year left on his contract, but admits that is only a possibility.

Happy

"Robinho has felt slightly ignored in some aspects, but he is happy with his team-mates and with Schuster. He loves Madrid," Ribeiro told AS. "(President Ramon) Calderon told us that he would not leave for 100m euros (£79m). They are doing with Robinho what Manchester United have done with Cristiano Ronaldo. "If he stays next year he would be able to leave for a lot smaller fee than the 32m euros (£25m) now on offer from Chelsea." Madrid's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic is set to fly back to the Spanish capital this weekend to hold negotations with Robinho and his agent over a new contract. The offer will reportedly be around 5m euros-per-season (£3.9m) and a five-year deal, and that could be enough to tempt the former Santos star, who has never said publicly that he wants to leave However, Marca claim that Real president Calderon would be willing to let Robinho leave, if Chelsea offer 40million euros (£31.7m).
