Wales international signs one-year contract at Spotland
Rochdale have completed the signing of Wales international midfielder Mark Jones on a free transfer.
Jones has signed a one-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months, at Spotland after leaving Wrexham at the end of last season.
He had been wanted by Peterborough United, but has now joined Rochdale after spending the week training with Keith Hill's squad.
Hill is likely to resist the temptation to hand Jones his debut against Barnet on Saturday, but is looking forward to seeing his new signing in action.
Very creative
"We have signed a good footballer and that is what we do, first and foremost," Hill told the club's
official website.
"For me it has to be said that Mark is still way from match fitness at this moment and we now need to get him up to speed as quickly as we possibly can.
"Mark is very creative and can play in a number of positions.
"We do expect big things of Mark but not yet. We have to be patient as we have to be throughout the season."
