Serie A club mourn chief
Roma president Franco Sensi has died, the club have confirmed.
The 82-year-old, who had been suffering in recent weeks with breathing problems, passed away in a Rome hospital on Sunday.
Sensi bought the club in 1993 when they were on the brink of bankruptcy, before leading them out of their difficulties and overseeing their Scudetto success in 2001.
Rome born and bred, Sensi was one of the most respected figures in Italian football.
Soon after his death rivals AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus all paid their own tributes to him on their websites.
Although owner, Sensi had already passed day-to-day running of the Giallorossi on to his daughter Rosella, who is the club's sporting director.
