Striker remains keen on transfer window switch

Egypt international striker Emad Moteab is hoping to secure a move to England before the closure of the transfer window. Moteab came close to a switch to Bristol City last month only for the deal to fall through at the last minute. The deal collapsed due to the confusion regarding the involvement of a number of agents claiming to be involved in the transfer, and the player's decision to turn out for Al Ahly against City's wishes. The 25-year-old remains keen on winning a move to England and the player's club Al Ahly are still prepared to sell him for the right price. Moteab is a prolific goalscorer for club and country with the skilful attacker netting 22 goals in 47 appearances for his country and has scored 89 goals in 172 appearances for Al Ahly. His club have given the mandate to agent Jesse Learoyd-Hill to try and broker a move for the prolific striker as he looks to join Egyptian team-mates Mido and Amr Zaki in England. Learoyd-Hill admits a number of English sides are interested in signing Moteab and that Al Ahly are keen for any move to go through without any complications. "Al Ahly were disappointed at what happened with the transfer of Moteab to Bristol City as they felt the involvement of a number of agents clouded the matter," Learoyd-Hill told skysports.com. "They are willing to sell Moteab for the right price and they have given me the mandate to do any deal. "I have had a long-standing relationship with Al Ahly and they do not want any other parties getting involved in any transfer. "I have worked with Al Ahly before in the past and I brought the first Egyptian to the Premier League when I took Ibrahim Said to Everton in 2003.

"News of Moteab's availability has alerted a number of clubs in England with teams in the Premier League and Championship interested in his services. "Moteab is determined to try his luck in England and a work permit would not be an issue as he was granted one at Bristol City before the move fell through. "We will now wait and see what offers come in from around Europe before the transfer window closes in two weeks."
