Striker due back in training on Tuesday
Dean Ashton is confident he will be able to return to training with West Ham on Tuesday.
The striker scored two early goals in the 2-1 victory over Wigan at the weekend, before limping out of the action in the 73rd minute.
It was initially feared that he had suffered a calf problem and was facing a spell on the sidelines, but scans have revealed the issue was nothing more serious than cramp.
Ashton was left out of Fabio Capello's England squad for the friendly international against Czech Republic at Wembley on Wednesday.
The former Norwich forward is now expected to keep his place in Alan Curbishley's line-up for Sunday's trip to Manchester City, live on
Sky Sports 1.

He told the club's
official website: "It was just cramp. I should be training with the team on Tuesday.
"I am really glad that it is not a bad injury. I am looking forward to joining in training tomorrow and getting on with playing.
"Overall, I am really pleased with how pre-season has gone for me and then to get off to a good start in the first game - especially with two goals.
"Hopefully I can keep that going on Sunday."
