The scout reports...
Fraser Forster is a promising, athletic and commanding goalkeeper who is tipped for a big future.
Despite standing at 6' 7", Forster is a very agile goalkeeper for his size and he could be a future England goalkeeper.
The 20-year-old has come through the ranks at Newcastle and although he has yet to make a first-team appearance he was No.2 in the squad for a number of games last season when Shay Given was injured.
Forster was outstanding in the reserves last season and he is so highly-regarded within the corridors of St James' Park he was handed a new deal at the club in April.
He is being tipped to make the breakthrough into the England Under 21 set-up this season and he is expected to become Newcastle's No.1 sooner rather than later.
The scout says
Forster has all the attributes to be a top keeper in that he is similar in size and style to Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel. Forster has a great presence in goal and his handling is second to none. Like all good goalkeepers Forster is courageous and a superb organiser and his shot-stopping ability make him a nightmare for opposing attackers.
