Real set asking price for Brazilian playmaker

Robinho's agent Wagner Riberio admits his client's future could still lie at Stamford Bridge. The Real Madrid playmaker has been consistently linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, with both sides seemingly keen to strike a deal. So far Real have made it clear that they will not part with the Brazil international until their lofty valuation is met. As a result, proceedings have reached a stalemate, with the player unsure as to whether he will remain in the Spanish capital or head to the English equivalent. However, Ribeiro has now revealed the asking price which would see Real prepared to part with their 24-year-old star.

Transfer window

"I have spoken with Pedja Mijatovic and with Ramon Calderon and they have said to me that Robinho has to stay, that he can't leave. So we can't do anything because he is in contract for two more years at Real Madrid," said the agent to Onda Madrid. "Robinho never said that he wasn't comfortable at Real Madrid but the thing is that he has a financial offer that is very interesting, it's only that. "So I have to say that until 31st August everything is possible. Until the transfer window is closed I can't say where Robinho will play this season. "The president Ramon Calderon said to Robinho that if a 40 million euros (£31.7m) offer appears he would let him leave." Chelsea will be keen to strike a deal as soon as possible after hearing that Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba could be out of action until October. The striker's national boss Vahid Halilhodzic confirmed on Wednesday that the African ace is still some way off recovering from summer knee surgery.
