Australian holds discussions with club over new deal
Lucas Neill has revealed he has held talks with West Ham United over signing a new contract with the club.
The Hammers skipper has recorded 46 Premier League starts since joining from Blackburn Rovers in January 2007.
Neill was linked with a transfer away from Upton Park earlier this summer, with
skysports.com revealing Galatasaray had made an approach for his services.
The Australian defender has since insisted he is full committed to West Ham, and has now confirmed that discussions are under way over a new deal.
Neill said in the
Daily Star: "Officially I'm on my last year of my contract. I've had preliminary talks and there's been interest from elsewhere.
"But I'm captain of West Ham and very proud of that and I don't see it being any different this season."
