Liechtenstein international Franz Burgmeier has signed for League Two side Darlington on a free transfer.
The winger featured for his country as they were beaten 2-0 by Albania on Wednesday night.
He impressed Quakers boss Dave Penney during a recent trial spell with the North East outfit and has been handed a one-year contract.
Burgmeier, who was released by Swiss side FC Basel at the end of last season, is closing in on 50 caps for his country and has scored seven times at international level.
Burgmeier could now be handed his Darlo debut in the home meeting with Gillingham on Saturday as Penney's men look to secure their first league win of the new season at the third time of asking.
