Blues boss not interested in personal glory
Luiz Felipe Scolari has told his players that nobody at Chelsea is bigger than the club.
Scolari has already won a World Cup with Brazil and has been tipped to lead the Blues to Premier League success.
However, he is not interested in personal glory and has made it clear to his players that their focus should also be on the team rather than the individual.
"What is most important is Chelsea," Scolari said in the
Daily Mirror.
"This is the philosophy I want my players to understand.
"I am not more important than Chelsea. Chelsea is more important than any of us."
Midfield backing
New arrival Deco has overshadowed Frank Lampard in Chelsea's opening two games of the season with two fabulous goals.
Lampard also scored from the penalty spot against Portsmouth and Scolari expects the Englishman to continue his prolific goalscoring form from recent seasons.
However, he is not worried about which midfielder emerges with the better record so long as Chelsea do well.
Scolari said: "I'm sure Frank Lampard will score a minimum of 15 goals this season because he tries all the time. He trains every day to do this.
"Deco can also score 15 goals or maybe 20.
"If Lampard or Deco score the goals for us, that's good, but it's not important. What's important is Chelsea win."
