Ex-Royals stopper links up with Owls on trial
Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has handed a trial to former Reading and Stoke defender John Halls.
The 26-year-old former Arsenal trainee is currently looking for a new club after being released by The Royals over the summer.
Halls spent time at Championship rivals Blackpool during the close-season, but The Seasiders opted against offering him a deal.
Although Laws recently brought in Middlesbrough's Tony McMahon on loan, he is still keen to see Halls in training and in action.
"John Halls is out of contract and he is a good player so we have decided to take a look at him this week," he told the club's
official website.
"I had planned to bring him in for a trial before we signed Tony McMahon so we will see how things go in training and the reserve team game on Wednesday."
