Croatian delighted to make Spurs switch

Tottenham have announced the signing of Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka on six-year deal. Corluka's move to White Hart Lane, for a reported fee of £8.5million, has been mooted for some time and now the deal has been finalised. The Croatia international came close to a move to Tottenham last month only for City to call him back to Eastlands at the last minute. Following City's decision to pull the plug on the deal, the right-back handed in a transfer request in a bid to make the move. City's signing of Pablo Zabaleta has enabled them to let Corluka move on and he joins compatriot Luka Modric at Spurs. Corluka admitted he was delighted to be making the move to Tottenham and linking up with his Croatia team-mate. "I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend [Luka Modric] is here so it is a very happy day for me," Corluka told the club's official website.
