Exeter full-back moves to Molineux
Wolves have swooped to sign Exeter City full-back George Friend before the close of the transfer window.
An injury to George Elokobi has left Wolves boss Mick McCarthy short of defensive options and he has managed to bring in Friend in addition to Matt Hill from Preston North End.
The 20-year-old had come through the ranks at Exeter and helped the club secure a return to the Football League.
He had started all five games for the Grecians so far this season, but has now clinched a move to Molineux.
Fighting for spot
Friend has agreed a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, and will cost Wolves an undisclosed fee.
McCarthy told the club's
official website: "Andrew Cassidy, one of Dave Bowman's scouting network, alerted us to George.
"Dave, Steve Weaver, our development coach and Taff (Ian Evans) have all watched him and when Taff said 'sign him' that was good enough for me.
"He comes straight into the squad and will be fighting for a first-team spot."
