Brazilian has big ambitions for City

Robinho insists his ambition at Manchester City is to win the Premier League. City shocked world football on Monday when they broke the British transfer record to beat Chelsea to the signing of the Real Madrid star. Robinho met manager Mark Hughes for the first time on Tuesday when he stopped over in England before heading to South American to link-up with the Brazilian squad. "I met with the manager and it went very well," he told the club's official website. "I know that he was a great player and I think that will be a big help to me. "I want to help the manager and the team to win the Premier League, that's my ambition here." Robinho joins fellow Brazilians Jo and Elano at Eastlands and he admits having friends at the club also swayed his decision. "I play with Jo and Elano in our national team, they are my friends and I know them very well," he said. "Having such great players already at City was one of the reasons why I decided to come here."
