Chairman hopes deal will be completed
Blackburn chairman John Williams says talks with Robbie Fowler over a possible move to Ewood Park are 'ongoing'.
Fowler has been linked with a move to Blackburn all summer after linking up with the club on trial.
Rovers boss Paul Ince is keen to have his former Liverpool team-mate on board, but talks are believed to have stalled over the terms of his contract.
Fowler is able to join Rovers outside the transfer window as he is a free agent after leaving Cardiff and Williams remains confident a deal will be struck.
Solution
"He can be signed outside the window and it's something we are looking at," Williams told the
Lancashire Evening Telepgraph.
"We are edging to a solution, it's just finding the correct deal, but discussions are ongoing."
Williams also revealed they are looking at other targets ahead of the January transfer window.
"We are looking at a number of players," added Williams. "We start the process now ready for January, but there is nothing imminent."
