Aston Villa signing Carlos Cuellar is hoping to make his debut for the club's first team in the coming weeks.
The Spanish centre-half has been sidelined due to a calf injury since joining Villa from Rangers last month.
But, with two impressive reserve games under his belt, he is positive about his chances of a place in the first team.
He told
AVTV Online: "I am very happy because I am able to play now after recovering from the injury. I feel better and everything is looking good.
"It's been fantastic to get two wins in my two reserve games. And I'm obviously delighted that I'm fit and that I did well. I didn't feel any problems.

"I am getting closer to being available to the manager. Every day in training, I feel better and everything is moving in the right direction."
The 27-year-old is also eager to play in a stadium packed out with Villa fans.
He said: "Villa Park is a really great ground and the atmosphere, even in the reserve game was fantastic.
"I am looking forward to walking out for a first-team match to see what it is like when it's full."
