Full-back could make Everton debut, live on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday

David Moyes admits Lars Jacobsen is in contention to make his Everton debut against Stoke City on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1. Jacobsen joined Everton on a one-year contract last month and was on the bench for the recent 3-0 defeat at home to Portsmouth. He played for Denmark against Hungary last weekend and Everton boss Moyes is ready to let the full-back loose at the Britannia Stadium. "Lars looks like he is in good shape at the minute and has definitely come into my thoughts for Stoke," said Moyes in the Liverpool Echo.

Good understanding

"He is a good footballer with a good understanding of the game and uses the ball well. "I saw him at the weekend and he did well. We know he will give us options at right-back. We'll see how he is when he gets back." Meanwhile, Everton duo Tony Hibbert and Steven Pienaar are expected to return to the first-team fold after injury within the next three weeks. Head physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website: "Tony saw the specialist in Manchester on Monday and he gave him the green light to start twisting and turning and doing some kicking. He is making very good progress and he is a matter of weeks away. "Steven Pienaar had another X-ray on Monday which shows he is healing excellently and, similar to Tony, he is only weeks away."
