Luke Young is ready to accept squad rotation at Aston Villa if it helps the club towards success.
The defender sacrificed guaranteed first-team football at Middlesbrough in order to join Villa in August.
With Villa competing on four fronts this season after securing a place in the Uefa Cup, Young recognises he will not be guaranteed a place in manager Martin O'Neill's plans for every game.
But the right-back believes that a fierce fixture list indicates Villa are moving in the right direction.
"Rotation is part of modern day football when you're in that many competitions," Young told Villa's
official website.

"You have to accept it and know that if you're out of the side, it's not always because you are out of favour, it could be to give someone else a run-out or to give you a rest before another game in the next few days.
"If we can get through the Uefa Cup first round we'll have a lot of midweek games because we'd go into a league format.
"The more games we have, the more successful we are. If we can keep going in the likes of the Uefa, League and FA Cups it will keep a buzz going at the club. The more competitions you are involved in, the better everyone feels.
"I think going into the amount of games we could have, we will see some rotation and a healthy squad is essential.
"We might have different line-ups every week and see players come in and then out of the side but Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal do it. This shows we are moving in the right direction.
"Patience is important because footballers want to play games but we are all sensible enough to know that with Europe, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup, you can't play every single game."
