City manager Hughes expects great reception for winger
Manchester City manager Mark Hughes admits there is an air of excitement surrounding Shaun Wright-Phillips' return to Eastlands on Saturday.
Wright-Phillips re-signed for City from Chelsea at the end of August after leaving the club for Stamford Bridge in 2005.
The 26-year-old winger enjoyed a dream return a fortnight ago at Sunderland, striking a brace in the club's 3-0 success.
He is now preparing to face his former club Chelsea on Saturday at the City of Manchester Stadium, and Hughes is hopeful the forward will make a similar impact on his homecoming.
He told the club's
official website: "Everyone knows that Shaun is an exceptionally talented footballer, and we are delighted that he is back.
"He made a huge impact against Sunderland, and you could not have written that script any better. It was great for him, and I know that he is really excited about going up against Chelsea at the weekend, as we all are.
"He is going to get a fantastic reception, his homecoming in the media has possibly been overshadowed a little bit by the Robinho transfer, but come Saturday I think you will see Shaun get an outstanding reception."
