Cheltenham Town have extended Barry Hayles' loan from Leicester City by a further month.

Striker's experience proving important at Whaddon Road

Cheltenham Town have extended Barry Hayles' loan from Leicester City by a further month. Hayles has started three games in League One for Cheltenham since moving to Whaddon Road in August. The Robins had been keen to arrange a long-term loan for Hayles, but the veteran striker wants to assess the situation on a month-by-month basis. He is now available for Friday's game against Hartlepool United and Robins boss Keith Downing is happy to have retained the 36-year-old. "Barry's experience has already proved important to us," Downing told the club's official website. "I am sure that he will also get stronger and sharper with additional matches, so there is more to come from him."
