A-Team and Battlestar Gallactica legend Dirk Benedict told Soccer AM that he could soon be a Gillingham regular.

A-Team and Battlestar Gallactica legend Dirk Benedict came across the pond to take part in the show - and revealed he's also in the UK for football reasons. The Beautiful game is, of course, a universal language but the Face man couldn't quite get his head around the title of the show. The American said: "I've been practising saying football before coming on the show, so why haven't you called the show Football AM? It's very confusing for me..." But the actor later went on to confess that he's a 'soccer dad' and is here to support his 18-year-old son, who's on trial at Gillingham. "I'm over here travelling and carrying luggage for my son. He started playing when he was four and he's always wanted to come and play over here. So I said let's give it a go." When quizzed about which Premier League team he supported, Dirk waxed lyrical about Roy Keane's attributes both as a player and a manager, before confessing he was a Spurs fan! "I liked the way Roy Keane played so I was Man U," he began. "He was so steady, calm and it all seemed effortless. He controlled the game, was very strong and had great presence on the pitch. "I always said he'd be a great manager and he's doing well at Sunderland." The former Starbuck actor added: "After I was in Celebrity Big Brother I was invited to watch Chelsea and sat in the directors' box. "But it was Berbatov that really got me into Tottenham - and now he's gone! But I am a Spurs fan." Dirk has a reputation as a ladies man thanks to his roles in the original Battlestar Gallactica series and, of course, as Face in the A-Team. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it... "Kissing all those girls was risky," he joked. "But I never got any of the women! "Working on the A-Team was the best job I've ever had as a actor. We had so much fun." And if you've ever wanted to know what Mr T is called by his friends, Dirk gave the answer to Soccer AM. "We used to call him T. He always used to call me and Dwight [Schultz], Face and Murdoch. "He wouldn't stop talking and was one of the funniest individuals I've ever met." Now you know.
