Striker set for return
Dave Penney is likely to recall on-loan striker Liam Hatch whilst Ross Davidson could force his way back into contention for Port Vale.
Peterborough frontman Hatch was left out of the side which was beaten 2-1 by Aldershot last weekend but is now set to return to partner fellow loanee Billy Clarke from the start, with Gregg Blundell demoted to the bench.
But fellow striker Pawel Abbott will have to wait until the New Year to make his long-awaited comeback after suffering an ankle ligament injury during training this week and will be ruled out for up to three months.
Boss Dave Penney will check on the fitness of Liechtenstein international Franz Burgmeier who was in action on Wednesday night for his country's World Cup qualifying 0-0 draw in Azerbaijan.
Defender Clayton Fortune is still struggling with a shoulder injury.
Port Vale news
19-year-old midfielder Davidson scored a consolation goal for Vale reserves in the 3-1 defeat by a Sheffield Wednesday second-string in midweek, and has been tipped by coach Andy Porter to come back into the first-team reckoning after being dropped in the last month by boss Lee Sinnott.
Shane Tudor also figured in the reserve game as part of his recovery from a knee injury, but it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough for the Quakers clash.
Winger Luke Chapman has undergone surgery to repair knee cartilage and the 17-year-old will be out for at least six weeks before the prospect of making his full Vale debut.
Versatile Paul Edwards has returned to training but is short of match fitness so may miss out.
