Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson is keen to conclude a deal for striker Val Teixeira before the weekend. The 31-year-old Portuguese striker has impressed during a trial spell with the Spireites and scored a hat-trick for the reserves in their recent 4-0 win over Wolves. Richardson is now hoping to secures the services of Teixeira before the League Two trip to Rochdale this Saturday. He said: "We are hopeful that we might have some news this week about that one."
