Inter boss praises players after Champions League win

Inter Milan head coach Jose Mourinho praised the character of his team after they triumphed in their opening UEFA Champions League encounter. The Serie A giants recorded a 2-0 success over Panathinaikos in Athens on Tuesday evening to leave them top of Group B after Werder Bremen and Anorthosis Famagusta shared a goalless draw in the other fixture. Mourinho, who lifted the Champions League trophy with Porto in 2004, expressed his joy at the way his squad is progressing under his stewardship, and highlighted the displays of forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Adriano against the Greek outfit. The former Chelsea boss told Sky Italia: "I was pleased with the scoreline and the three points. The Champions League is not easy, but my side had the personality to win. "Ibra played really well. He doesn't need to score to be the man of the match. Adriano did exactly as I asked. "I think we are growing as a side. I want the side to play without fear."
