Portuguese confident things are on the up in Italy
Jose Mourinho believes things are starting to click into place at Inter Milan having guided his new side to the top of Serie A.
A 3-1 win at Torino on Sunday sees the Italian champions go to the summit of the table on goal difference, above Juventus, who kept up their own bright start with an away day success at Cagliari.
Former Chelsea chief Mourinho is in his first post since leaving West London at the start of last season and is confident he has now found his feet in fresh surrounds, while conceding he has been surprised at the depth in which football is analysed in Italy.
"The game system is not important, but the game principles are and the team can improve match by match," he told
Sky Italia.
"I'm not interested in having two strikers or one, a winger or two. In Italy they talk a lot about this, but I'm not interested in these things.
"It's not easy to have the total control of the match. Inter have been the strongest, we scored three times, we could have scored more."
Strikers praised
Mourinho had special words of encouragement for his strikeforce of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Adriano, with the Brazilian earning his manager's plaudits for the manner in which he has returned to form this season after a couple of years in the wilderness.
"Adriano? Everyone is talking about the goal he scored against Panathinaikos, but I think it's better what he did today against Torino, in terms of ball possession and other things.
"I'm really satisfied by the way in which he's doing things. Ibra has again been sensational."
