Clarets eye another cup scalp at Turf Moor

Burnley will be hoping to add another Premier League scalp when they tackle Fulham in the Carling Cup. Many a top-flight team have been eliminated from cup competition trips to Turf Moor in years gone by. This season is unlikely to be any exception with the Clarets in fine form and unbeaten in all competitions in over a month. Fulham head up north to Lancashire again following their 1-0 defeat to Burnley's arch-rivals Blackburn at the weekend.

Eagles recall?

Burnley manager Owen Coyle must decide whether to recall winger Chris Eagles. The summer signing from Manchester United has been suspended for the past three games but the Clarets have prospered in his absence by winning twice and drawing once. Only an injury-time equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Swansea denied Coyle's side maximum points during Eagles' enforced absence. However, the wideman could return as a replacement for striker Steve Thompson, who is cup-tied after playing for Cardiff in an earlier round. Coyle will check on the fitness of Ade Akinbiyi, who is nursing a back injury, while Christian Kalvenes could push for a recall ahead of Stephen Jordan at left-back.
Bullard rested?
Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson is set to decide whether to play influential midfielder Jimmy Bullard after he was on the receiving end of two heavy challenges at Ewood Park. If Bullard misses out then Leon Andreasen is in contention following his recovery from a groin strain and he is ready to return after being an unused substitute against Blackburn. Dickson Etuhu could make his debut and Andrew Johnson may be given another chance to score his first Fulham goal.
