Sky Sports reader polls reveal the best buy of the summer and the most sought-after player.
Deco ranked as best buy; Messi is most wanted addition
A
Sky Sports reader poll has concluded that Portugal international Deco is considered to be the 'best buy of the summer', narrowly beating Dimitar Berbatov to the accolade.
Diminutive playmaker
Deco (35.6 per cent) signed for the Blues from Spanish giants Barcelona for a fee in the region of £7.9million in June and has made a blistering start to his career in West London.
It is probably partly down to the aforementioned form that Deco is expected to prove the most astute purchase of the transfer window, with the Portugal international scoring two goals and recording as many assists in four Premier League starts for the club.
Berbatov, meanwhile, comes in at 32.9 per cent after he joined Manchester United in the final moments of deadline day and, despite struggling in his opening matches for the champions, comes with an impressive reputation after sparkling for Tottenham Hotspur.
British record signing
Robinho received 15.1 per cent of the votes, and looks set to shine at Manchester City after scoring two goals in his opening two games for the club.
Completing the poll, Spurs'
Luka Modric and Arsenal's
Samir Nasri tied on 4.1 per cent, with the latter having more of an impact early on in his career in England, while £20million Liverpool forward
Robbie Keane scored 5.5 per cent.
Another
Sky Sports reader poll has indicated supporters would most like to see Barcelona star
Lionel Messi playing in the Premier League.
The skilful Argentina international romped to victory in the poll, receiving 47.9 per cent of the votes.
Messi has dazzled for club and country in recent years and there is little doubt that fans would welcome him to England's top flight with open arms.
AC Milan schemer
Kaka, who has been regularly linked with a move from Serie A, came second, scoring 26 per cent.
The Brazilian attacker boasts tremendous pace with the ball and there is no question that the Fifa World Player of the Year would add much to the Premier League.
Two-time World Player of the Year
Ronaldinho came in third with 15.1 per cent, and nearly completed a transfer to England this summer.
The Brazilian had been in talks with Manchester City, before opting to sign for AC Milan as he looks to rediscover his once brilliant best.
Bayern Munich and France winger
Franck Ribery (5.5 per cent) and Real Madrid goalkeeper
Ilker Casillas (1.4 per cent) made up the other nominations.
