Inter stay top, while Lazio move second

Inter Milan maintained their hold on top spot in Serie A, while Lazio moved second and surprise package Catania earned a draw at Juventus. Jose Mourinho's Inter side were made to fight for the points against Lecce at the Giuseppe Meazza, but the table-toppers earned a late 1-0 victory. Substitute Julio Cruz netted the only goal of the game with 11 minutes remaining as Inter sneaked the victory and Lecce dropped to 15th. Lazio are up into second as they scored three goals in eight second half minutes to down Fiorentina. Stefano Mauri opened the scoring in the 50th minute, before Goran Pandev (54) and Sebastiano Siviglia (58) wrapped up the 3-0 win. Catania frustrated Juventus at Stadio Olimpico as they held their hosts to a 1-1 draw. The visitors found themselves a goal behind on 16 minutes as Brazilian striker Amauri hit the back of the net, but Gianvito Plasmati earned Catania a point when he equalised in the 68th minute. Roma's poor start to the season continued as they were stunned 3-1 at Genoa. Giuseppe Sculli put the home side in front on four minutes, but Daniele De Rossi (28) then drew Roma level. Diego Milito, though, was to put Genoa back in front on 60 minutes, before De Rossi went from Roma hero to villain as he received his second booking. Milito made sure of the win with two minutes remaining as he added a third. AC Milan continued their recent return to form as Carlo Ancelotti's side recorded a 2-1 win at Reggina to move ninth. Marco Borriello put Milan in front on 23 minutes, but Bernardo Corradi brought Reggina level just before the hour-mark. However, Alexandre Pato added to his reputation as he netted the winner with 18 minutes left on the clock. Atalanta sit third as they piled more misery on bottom-of-the-table Cagliari. Sergio Floccari scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute as Cagliari could not respond and remain without a win this season. Napoli occupy fourth place after earning a 2-1 home victory over Palermo. Marek Hamsik opened the scoring on 14 minutes and Marcelo Zalayeta (79) doubled the advantage. Fabrizio Miccoli hit an 83rd minute goal for Palermo from the penalty spot, but Napoli held on for the points. Udinese have also climbed the table after a 3-0 win at Bologna, who had Miguel Britos sent off in the 14th minute. A Gaetano D'Agostino penalty, after Britos had been dismissed, opened the scoring and then Antonio Floro Flores (22) and Simone Pepe (72) moved Udinese into sixth. Chievo and Torino, who had Aimo Diana dismissed on the stroke of full-time, drew 1-1 as Michele Marcolini (50) equalised after former Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi (40) had opened the scoring. Elsewhere, Siena and Sampdoria played out a goalless draw at Artemio Franchi.
