Orient midfielder concedes Premier League dream

Leyton Orient midfielder Jason Demetriou admits he would love to play for a Premier League club, but is refusing to get carried away about his future just yet. The highly-rated 20-year-old told skysports.com that to play in the top flight would be a dream come true, but his loyalty remains with Orient having come through the ranks at Brisbane Road. "I'd love to play at the highest level possible and I'd love to do it with Orient because they've brought me up and so I'm very loyal to them," he told skysports.com. "The gaffer wouldn't stand in my way though if he thought it was a good move for me and I'd be delighted to play for a club of such big stature." Demetriou has been linked with a move to Newcastle United or Championship side Charlton Athletic, but he has not heard anything from them yet.

Rumours and conjecture

"You never know what are just rumours really and I'm delighted to be linked to such big clubs, but I've not heard anything from the clubs mentioned yet. "It's just good to get noticed really because it means the decent performances aren't getting missed." Demetriou believes the club have got a great chance of reaching the Championship after more than matching much-fancied Leicester City on Saturday. "We've definitely got the ability and the quality of players to push for the play-offs and we believe that in the team, but it's just about getting some consistency. "Our home form is massively important to us this season. We went on such a good run at home last season and it gave the crowd such a buzz. If we can do well at home then I think we'll do well this season."
