Gunners chief fumes after shock Hull defeat

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger concedes Saturday's defeat to Hull City left him feeling 'physically sick', as he prepares to wield the axe for midweek UEFA Champions League exertions. Premier League new boys Hull recorded one of the biggest shocks in Premier League history when they came away from the Emirates Stadium with all three points. While Hull were deservedly praised for what was a skilled and combative display, the performance of Arsenal has come in for widespread criticism. No more so than from Wenger, who was left livid at the final whistle over what he perceived to be an unacceptable display from his players. The Gunners entertain Porto in the capital on Tuesday night and those that failed to deliver at the weekend can expect to be sat with Wenger on the bench.

Changes imminent

"There were enough ingredients to make me physically sick," he is quoted in The Sun. "What we delivered was not good enough and we all know that. There will certainly be changes for Tuesday. "When you have an opportunity to go top of the Premier League, the very least expected is that you have the correct level of intensity in your concentration right from the start. "I would say the electric level in our head was not high enough. "What was most disappointing is that we struggled to score in the first half, finally went 1-0 up, yet still lost the game. "That is where we were guilty. We worked so hard to get ahead and then we let it go again."
