Allen joins Wrexham on short-term loan deal

Dean Saunders has completed his first piece of business as Wrexham boss by signing Joe Allen on loan from Swansea. The teenage midfielder has penned a one-month deal with the Welsh club and will be available for their Blue Square Premier clash with York on Tuesday. The Wales U21 international will also be in action for his country in a European Championship play-off with England on Friday and is excited by the prospect of regular football over the next few weeks. "I'm looking forward to it," he told Swansea's official website. "It will be good to get some more game time under my belt.

Reputation

"I obviously know the manager (Saunders) from the Welsh set-up. He's got the same philosophy as the gaffer (Roberto Martinez) in that he wants to play football the right way. "He's got a good reputation in the game and has the utmost respect from the senior boys in the Welsh squad. He's also got a wealth of experience which hopefully I can tap into during my time at the Racecourse." Meanwhile, Swansea have also agreed to terminate Stefan Morrison's contract in order to allow the young striker to pursue his career closer to his Midlands home. The 18-year-old joined the Championship outfit on a free transfer from West Brom over the summer, before spending a spell on loan at Welsh Premier side Port Talbot.
