Veteran midfielder set to remain at Whaddon Road

Cheltenham have struck a deal with Bristol City which will allow Scott Murray to remain at the club. The Scottish winger initially joined the League One outfit in September, signing a one-month emergency loan deal. That agreement saw him become Martin Allen's first signing after taking the reins at Whaddon Road. The new Robins boss has been impressed by the veteran midfielder during the intervening weeks since and was keen to keep the 34-year-old within his ranks. With Murray currently out of the first team picture at Bristol City he will now spend the next two months with Cheltenham. "This morning I have agreed with Bristol City to extend the loan of Scott Murray for a further two months," Allen told the club's official website. "I feel this is good news and it was Scott who came to me asking if he could stay, which is a good sign."
