Alcaraz brought in as replacement

Recreativo Huelva have dismissed coach Manolo Zambrano and appointed Lucas Alcaraz in his place. Zambrano has paid the price for a disappointing start to the season with Recreativo currently 18th in the Primera Liga after six games. Recreativo beat Real Betis in their opening match of the season but they have since picked up just one point from five games. They lost 4-0 to Malaga at Nuevo Colombino on Sunday and club bosses have now decided it is time for a change. Zambrano only took charge in February when he was promoted from within to replace Victor Munoz, and he successfully steered the club to safety. Incoming boss Alcaraz will begin his second stint with Recreativo with a clash against Real Valladolid on Sunday 19th October. Alcaraz guided Recre to promotion to the top flight in 2002 before moving on for spells at Racing Santander and Real Murcia.
