Belarus coach admits England were too good
Belarus coach Bernd Stange insists his side have never played better - but they still came up short against England.
The German tactician insisted that his side produced their best football he has ever seen in Minsk.
However, despite going in 1-1 at the break after Pavel Sitko had levelled Steven Gerrard's opener, the home side could not hang as the outstanding Wayne Rooney fired home a second-half brace.
"We have played a lot of good teams in the past," Stange said on
Sky Sports News.
"With Argentina, with Germany, we played Turkey here - but the first-half we played was the best we ever played in Minsk - but it was not good enough for England.
"They are strong and powerful with physical strength and it was very difficult."
