Werder star ready to walk away from German squad
Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings might consider quitting Germany after sitting on the bench for the recent World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Joachim Low preferred Stuttgart's Thomas Hitzlsperger in the holding midfield position against Russia and Wales.
Frings has now vented his frustration at the situation.
"Jogi Low told me on Friday that I wouldn't be playing," Frings told
Bild.
"That hurts, but it can happen sometimes. But he told me that he was still planning with me, that my experience makes me important etc.
"But he didn't follow his words with actions and that hurts double.
"We spoke before the Russia game and then again before the Wales game and what happened? Nothing.
"I didn't get to play and didn't even get the chance to warm up against Wales. That was the worst part, it was humiliating."
Quit threat
Frings admitted that he would be seriously considering quitting the national team as a result of his treatment.
"I can't count that out," he said when asked about quitting.
"I am thinking of retiring from international football, not because I am sulking, but because several things have become clear to me over the past few days.
"Such a decision needs time and that could take a few days or weeks. I have to ask everyone to be patient with me."
