Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez is hoping to bring a winger in on loan, with Chelsea starlet Scott Sinclair at the top of his wish list.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has told
skysports.com that Martinez is a big admirer of the England Under-19 international.
Jenkins admits that he will do everything he can to get the players his manager wants.
"Roberto has made it clear he'd like to bring in a young wide player and Scott Sinclair was one of the players he was looking at," he told
skysports.com.
"If a player becomes available that he would like to bring to the club I'm sure Roberto will ring him in and a player of Scott's ability would certainly fit the bill."
Swansea have taken to the Championship well and Jenkins believes they can improve further as the season progresses.
"We are pleased with how things have gone and the players are starting to believe that we can compete at this level," he continued.
"We've gone with a very inexperienced squad, as I think none of the players have played at this level before.
"But we decided to take that path and I think we are quite confident to build with the experience gained and grow into the Championship."
No breaking the bank
Many Championship sides have pushed the boat out in terms of spending vast amounts of money on players in the hope of gaining promotion to the Premier League, but Jenkins insists Swansea won't break the bank in an attempt to reach the promised land.
"Over the next few years we would like to continue to take the club forward, which obviously means taking the club into the Premier League," he said.
"Obviously we need to be realistic and understood that it may take three or four years or even more to build a side capable of achieving it.
"There are a lot of sides spending big money at this level to try and get in to the Premier League and we need to build one step at a time and make sure we can compete without stretching ourselves too far financially."
