Celtic forward eyes Champions League scalp at Old Trafford

Shaun Maloney feels an 'extraordinary' piece of individual skill could be Celtic's only way of coming away from Old Trafford with a triumph on Tuesday. The Hoops tackle Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League aiming to record their first win in Group E after drawing and losing their opening games against AaB Aalborg and Villarreal respectively. The two British giants clashed twice two years ago with Shunsuke Nakamura netting brilliant free-kicks in the North West and Celtic Park encounters. And Maloney admits it will probably take something similar if the SPL holders are to vanquish the current European champions. "If we are looking to try and get anything then I think one of our players are going to have to stand up and do something extraordinary like Shunsuke did last time," the former Aston Villa player said.

Quality

"Hopefully someone will come up with it. But it's going to be a hard place to win. They have got a really good team. "The amount that they can spend (compared to Celtic) is obviously far different but obviously it's got to be spent wisely. "You can't pinpoint any one United player. They have got that many good players and they obviously strengthened the attack in the summer. "We have to be aware of that but I think we've got quality and hopefully we show it tomorrow night."
