Torsten Frings insists he has no intention of calling time on his international career with Germany.
Speculation had suggested that the energetic midfielder would slip into retirement after failing to force his way into Joachim Low's side for the recent round of 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
The Werder Bremen enforcer had also hinted that he was ready to turn his back on his country, but has since had a change of heart and is now setting his sights on a November friendly with England in Berlin.
"I will continue to fight and look for my chance," he said.
"I would like to persuade Joachim Low to let me achieve success with his team."

The 31-year-old has a wealth of experience on the international stage, earning 78 caps during an illustrious career.
He featured in the 2002 World Cup final defeat against Brazil and found himself as a runner-up once again during this summer's European Championship.
Despite featuring in such high-profile contests, he was dropped for an October double-header against Russia and Wales.
He was understandably disappointed to lose his place in the side, but remains committed to the German cause.
"I had to give myself time in order to give the situation some clarity," he added.
"Playing for my country is something unusual and special and something I would also like to do in the future."
