Former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has confirmed he is signing for new MLS club Seattle Sounders.
Ljungberg is available as a free agent after his contract was cancelled by West Ham United in August after an injury-hit 12 months at Upton Park.
There were reports that the 31-year-old could retire from football, but the Swede has now opted for a move to the United States.
He is expected to be confirmed as a Seattle player at a press conference on Tuesday, with the club taking part in the MLS for the first time next year.

Reports suggest Ljungberg will earn in the region of 16million euros (£12.8million) during his two-year contract and he is looking forward to a new challenge.
"I like it here, this feels great," Ljungberg told
Expressen.
"It's perfect, I love it here and this feels great."
MLS clubs have a contract limit, but the move will be made possible due to the 'designated player rule' that was announced when David Beckham signed for LA Galaxy.
