Humphrey eager to start, but Akurang blow for Bees

Chris Humphrey is pushing for a start for Shrewsbury Town against Barnet, who have lost Cliff Akurang for up to six weeks. Shrewsbury winger Humphrey has only started two games all season but he came off the bench to rescue a point for Town in their 1-1 draw with Brentford. Goalkeeper Glyn Garner is again expected to continue in place of Luke Daniels, who missed out on Saturday with a thigh injury. Midfielder Shane Cansdell-Sherriff plays his last game before a one-match ban after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Griffin Park, while defender Ben Herd and midfielder Kevin McIntyre are one booking away from suspension.

Barnet news

Barnet manager Paul Fairclough will have to make do without Akurang, who was pressing for a recall to the starting line-up. Akurang was dropped in favour of John O'Flynn and Adam Birchall for the clash with Exeter on Saturday, and is now out for between four and six weeks with a foot fracture. Jeremy de Magalhaes is the Bees' only injury absentee and has been sidelined since making his debut against Chester in late August. The Frenchman returned to full training this week and is stepping up his rehabilitation, but he is unlikely to make a first-team appearance until he has gained some match practice behind closed doors. Fairclough has no further injury or suspension struggles.
