Alkmaar go top with win at Roda
AZ Alkmaar secured all three points on the road to lowly Roda to take them top of the table on Tuesday.
Mounir El Hamdaoui netted midway through the first half to give
AZ the lead against strugglers
Roda, who have picked up just six points in eight games.
Hamdaoui doubled his tally with minutes remaining, to take Alkmaar two points clear of second-place Groningen.
PSV Eindhoven picked up their fifth win of the season against
Den Haag, moving them to fourth in the table.
After a goalless first-half, Eric Addo put the visitors in front before Otman Bakkal issued the second blow in stoppage time.
Elsewhere it finished all-square between
FC Volendam and
Willem.
Rock-bottom Volendam, who are yet to win a league game, had initially taken the lead through Melvin Platje.
The home side then found themselves trailing within minutes of the second half after quick-fire goals from Sergio Zijler and Paul Quasten.
Paul de Lange brought it level late in the second half to secure a point for Volendam, who remain at the foot of the table.
