Defender urges Gunners to take positives from Spurs game
Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has urged his team-mates to take the positives from the Tottenham game and bounce back against Stoke on Saturday.
Silvestre claimed his first goal for the club in the 4-4 thriller with rivals Tottenham to get his side back on level terms at 1-1.
The Frenchman joined Arsenal from rivals Manchester United after nearly ten years at Old Trafford.
Silvestre told the club's
official website: "As the manager said there were a lot of positive things about this game but it is something we have to bounce back from very quickly.
"It was painful because at 4-2 you think you have won it and conceding two goals in the last four or five minutes of the game is very hard. It feels like we lost that game.
"I didn't think I would score that early in my Arsenal career but it was good to get it back to 1-1."
The defender went on to try and put his finger on what went wrong for the Gunners.
He said: "I think we made it difficult for ourselves because we had to concede that first goal to press a bit more, be more aggressive and more positive in our game.
"We would rather play like we played at West Ham, where we were much more sturdy. It was a good team performance there. If we can repeat that (on Sunday) it would be better than the 4-4."
The Gunners will have to face Stoke without skipper William Gallas as the defender has a hamstring injury and Emmanuel Eboue, who has an injured knee.
