Big names linked with Les Verts

Pressure is mounting on St Etienne boss Laurent Roussey after a number of fans protested over the weekend after Les Verts' fourth successive defeat. However, it appears unlikely that St Etienne will make any change prior to their Uefa Cup clash with Rosenborg on Thursday. A host of names are being linked with Roussey's job including Alain Perrin, Frederic Hantz, Jean Tigana and Luis Fernandez. The latter pair both insisted they had not heard anything about any St Etienne link. "No French club has contacted me recently, I don't know the St Etienne case," Tigana told Le Sport 10. "I am not looking for anything." Fernandez added: "With the chairman, Roussey is in charge of the sporting decisions. "Roussey has full power at St Etienne."

Keeper delight

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jeremie Janot has admitted his delight at returning to the St Etienne side. The 31-year-old lost his place in the side to Jody Viviani after he suffered a shoulder injury in January. "At a certain time I believed football was over for me, but I had the desire not to stop after injury," he said. "I had wanted to be No.1 again and to play again was a true release. "But it was mixed emotions at Marseille - to play again, but suffer defeat."
