League One side get rid of manager after just six months

Stan Ternent has become the latest manager to lose his job after leaving Huddersfield Town by mutual consent. The League One club have parted with Ternent just six months after the veteran boss replaced Andy Ritchie at the Galpharm Stadium. Despite signing 11 players during his brief tenure, Ternent presided over just four wins in 15 matches and leaves with the Terriers 16th in the table. He had failed to win over the Terriers' fans and admitted that he was not afraid of the sack after the recent 4-0 defeat at Peterborough United. "I want to be spending my Christmas Day travelling to Carlisle as manager of Huddersfield Town, but if that does not happen I will eat Christmas dinner at home," said Ternent at the time. "As the manager I can only be as good, bad or indifferent as the players I select. I always pick what I believe to be my best team, but things haven't been going for us lately." In addition to Ternent's departure, his assistant Ronnie Jepson and first-team coach Mick Docherty have also been axed, along with vice-chairman Andrew Watson. Ternent's dismissal follows Monday's managerial exits of John Ward from Carlisle United and Aidy Boothroyd from Watford.
