Slavia Prague's Martin Vaniak is upset with Craig Gardner after he left him bruised from a tackle.
Shot-stopper upset with Villa player after challenge
Slavia Prague goalkeeper Martin Vaniak has branded Aston Villa defender Craig Gardner a 'hog' after he injured the shot-stopper in a challenge in Thursday's Uefa Cup game.
The incident happened on 31 minutes when Gardner attempted to get the ball from Vaniak.
The Czech shot-stopper has a large bruise on his left arm from the challenge, although he played on in the game, which saw Villa win 1-0 to virtually guarantee qualification into the last-32 of the European competition.
Vaniak told
Denik Sport: "I don't care in which league he is playing. If a player is able to do something like this, he is a hog in my opinion. Simply a hog, nothing else!
"I had the ball under control, he could not have it, no way. Even if he managed to kick the ball out from my grasp somehow, it would have only gone to towards the corner.
End badly
"When I saw the challenge about to happen, I knew it would end badly for me, that he would hit me.
"But I can not back out from a challenge, that is not possible.
"It did not limit me in the rest of the game though, you forget such pain."
