Saddlers chief accepts expectation levels at Banks's Stadium

Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen accepts he is under pressure following his team's inconsistent run of form. Mullen's men are 12th in the table after one win from six League One games, and have also been knocked out of two cup competitions in the past week. The Saddlers followed up a 1-0 home defeat by Luton Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by losing 3-1 at the Banks's Stadium to Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup first round on Saturday. The situation has led to suggestions that Mullen is already fighting for his job, just six months after replacing Richard Money in the post.

Under pressure

The experienced boss is aware results will dictate his future at Walsall and fully understands the need to improve the club's position. "Of course I do, that is the nature of the game," said Mullen in the Express & Star when asked if he felt the pressure of expectation. "My job depends on results and I am big enough to understand that. I have been there before. "I always feel under pressure, that is the type of person I am. I love my job, but I know that we have to get results."
