Defender out of Germany and England friendly

Werder Bremen have been dealt a blow as defender Clemens Fritz will be sidelined for two weeks with ligament problems. The Germany international suffered the injury in the club's 3-0 loss to Panathinaikos in the UEFA Champions League group stages after coming on as a second-half substitute. The sub then had to be subbed 20 minutes later when Fritz picked up his injury. Werder coach Thomas Schaaf told the club's official website: "He will be out of action for at least two weeks. "We shall have to wait and see exactly how long." Fritz will miss the club's upcoming Bundesliga matches against Bochum and Cologne, as well as Germany's international friendly with England on 19th November.
