Juve keeper to wait until New Year before making comeback from injury
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is to delay his return from injury until the start of 2009.
Buffon has been sidelined since the start of October after suffering a torn muscle in his leg against Palermo.
He was originally expected to be out for two months, but the injury has proved to be more serious than initially thought.
With Buffon still recovering from the injury, the Italy international admits he will wait until the New Year before returning to action.
"It's a little more serious than expected," conceded Buffon.
"I still have to recover physically, but I should be ready for 2009."
Alex Manninger has deputised in Buffon's absence and the regular Juve No.1 has put his faith in his understudy.
He added: "The last few games have shown I'm not indispensable."
