Rotherham boss not down after defeat

Rotherham boss Mark Robins was full of praise for his players following their 2-0 defeat to Stoke in the Carling Cup. The League Two outfit were always up against it at the Britannia Stadium but gave an excellent account of themselves. Glenn Whelan and Danny Pugh found the back of the net for the Potters, although that did not detract from Robins' praise for his players. "I'm proud of the players," he told Sky Sports News. "It was a great run. We've done terrifically well to get this far. "The supporters have come and backed us all the way. Hopefully we've given them something to be proud of again."

Recent run

Stoke have performed well following their early season struggles and assistant manager David Kemp is pleased with their recent run. "There are big games coming all the time and we're now in the quarter-finals of the League Cup and that's going to be another big game," he said. "It's great to be involved with these things. "We had a difficult start. We were playing reasonably well without getting some results, but now we're stringing some results together and the confidence is getting better all the time."
